Brian P. Henchy

Professional Experience

Brian P. Henchy has been employed at Freeman Howard, P.C., since 2015, and is currently an Associate at the firm. Brian primarily concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation, which includes all types of civil disputes such as contractual matters, real property litigation, construction disputes, personal injury and landlord-tenant actions. Prior to joining Freeman Howard, P.C. as an attorney, Brian gained practical legal experience as a legal intern with the Office of the New York State Attorney General, the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, and as a Legal Research and Writing Assistant for United States Magistrate Judge Christian F. Hummel in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. While attending Albany Law School, Brian was the winner of the 2013-2014 Dominick L. Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Competition, a Senior Editor of the Albany Government Law Review, the Competition Chairman of the 2014-2015 Karen C. McGovern Senior Prize Trials Competition, and represented Albany Law School in the 2015 Dean Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Competition hosted by Brooklyn Law School. In his final year of law school, Brian received the Robert A. Barker Award for his outstanding service to the Albany Law School Moot Court Program.


Brian is admitted to practice law in all New York State courts. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, and the Albany Law School Justinian Society.
